Essential Battery Safety Tips
Most risks around vaping and e-cigarettes are related to their batteries and how they're charged. Follow these important safety guidelines:
- Use the correct charger: Only use the chargers that came with your device
- Never charge unattended: Don't leave e-cigarettes charging overnight or when you're away
- Unplug after charging: Don't leave items continuously on charge after the charge cycle is complete
- Allow ventilation: Never cover batteries that are on charge, in case of overheating
- Avoid temperature extremes: Don't store, use, or charge batteries in very high or low temperatures
- Protect from damage: Keep batteries safe from being damaged, crushed, punctured, or immersed in water
- Prevent short circuits: Never let your battery come into contact with metal items such as coins or keys in a pocket or bag, as this can cause a short circuit and explosion
